Senior Mobile Programmer

Lockwood Publishing Ltd is Mobile Games Company based in Nottingham and soon to open a Brighton Studio. Lockwood have developed Avakin Life published on Google Play, Amazon and iOS.
Avakin Life is a free to play mobile virtual world on mobile. Avakin Life is in the top 300 grossing apps in the US on iOS with over 22 million downloads since December 2013.

Skill summary:

  • Must be capable of gathering requirements from stakeholders, leading to the planning and implementation of features in game to a high standard.
  • The ability to write clear, reliable and maintainable code for cross-platform mobile games.
  • A deep understanding of development on mobile platforms, and mobile SDK’s.
  • Strong software architecture skills, with a proven ability to design and implement re-usable systems.
  • Familiarity of working with both native and C# code bases.
  • A can-do attitude, along with an unwillingness to give in when faced by a challenge.
  • Ability and willingness to mentor and advise junior members of the code team.
  • Have a clear understanding of the particular challenges in game development, such as art workflow, performance optimisation, memory management and supporting multiple platforms.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Basic revision control skills using SVN, Git or Perforce.

Desirable, but not essential skills & experience:

  • History of developing game engine components.
  • Practical knowledge of GLSL / HLSL.
  • Experience developing networked games.
