At Gameloft Montreal, you’ll be working with the world’s best game developers. Our studio has developed, and continues to develop, hit titles that include the Dungeon Hunter, Modern Combat and Gangstar series.
We are currently looking for a Big Data developer to join our team and contribute to the stabilisation and growth of a database comprised of many tens of thousands of pieces of data collected on a per-second basis.
Please note that the database is based on proprietary technology capable of handling a massive flow of information in real time. The goal of this technology is to allow for a variety of complex analyses of our players' behaviours.
From the beginning of your adventure with us, you will be tasked with:
Programming in Python and C/C++
Optimising existing code in order to achieve stable performance in terms of computing, storage or query time in keeping with the quantity of Big Data; as well as to limit latency as much as possible
Possibly reviewing the architecture itself and taking part in improving it
Being subject to set constraints and conditions related to internal level-2 technical support
Handling maintenance, updating and support for the company's data warehouse
Developing scalable support and reporting tools for multiplayer and social games
Working with other development and system-administration teams
Experience and Qualifications:
University degree in computer science or computer engineering
Python and C/C++
Good understanding of RDBMS (particularly MySQL)
Knowledge of NoSQL solutions (HBase, MongoDB)
Knowledge of data-storage concepts and the terabyte/petabyte units of measurement
Possessing a willingness to learn
Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
Openness toward open-source technologies
Excellent communication skills and ability to integrate oneself into a team
