Crytek is looking for a Senior Sytems Programmer to work on a premier VR game at our Frankfurt, Germany studio.
The ideal candidate will be a generalist programmer with a desire to work in multiple domains game technology development - working closely with the Technical Director/Department Leads to identify, plan, implement, debug, deploy and support specific technologies for the game platform. Areas covered include but are not limited to performance monitoring and optimization, pipeline/tools/delivery sytems, hardware abstractions, core-systems maintenance etc. The position involves working within cross-disciplinary groups. As a key member of the team you’ll be involved in crafting great AAA games with a great team using state-of-the-art technology.
-Integrate creative and technical design processes while ensuring that high production values are never compromised.
-Contribute to product code-base in multiple domains.
-Research and develop new systems as well as maintain and optimize existing systems inside the CryENGINE/game.
-Optimization and debugging across multiple platforms (Console, PC...).
-Specify and contribute to testing procedures.
-Create accurate task duration estimates and complete all work in a timely basis.
-Remain focused, motivated and effective on all tasks through to completion.
-Display good communication and writing skills and create documentation where required.
-Develop well designed software within project schedule to team standards.
-Show a strong passion for making the highest quality / state of the art games.
-Actively participate in team working on project by making recommendations on how to improve product quality as well as group productivity.
-Provide input to department project status meetings.
-Work as a role model in terms of communication, quality and team spirit, mentor/inspire junior members
-5+ years professional experience (having worked with games or other realtime-systems a plus).
-Excellent understanding of C++.
-Proficiency with multi-threading and parallel algorithms.
-Strong knowledge of 3d math.
-Good understanding of computer architecture fundamentals (memory subsystems, CPU/GPU architecture etc.)
-Experience with game development tools and methods.
-Excellent problem-solving skills.
-Excellent English communication and writing skills.
-Keep a positive team-oriented attitude.
-Be proactive and self-motivated, work without direct supervision.
-Ability to work in interdisciplinary teams, to identify problems and propose solutions.
-Willing to relocate to Frankfurt am Main area , Germany.
