Crytek is looking for a Gameplay Programmer to support our Business CRYENGINE team in our Frankfurt, Germany studio.
The ideal candidate will be a generalist programmer with a desire to work in most areas of game development including but not limited to player/world interaction, AI strategies and rules, gameplay , etc. This is a position where design, game code implementation, creative tools improvements and use by example are all parts of the daily job. The position involves working within cross-disciplinary groups. As a key member of the content team you’ll be involved in crafting great AAA example content with a great team using state-of-the-art technology.
-Integrate creative and technical design processes while ensuring that high production values are never compromised.
-Work with existing engine code base to develop and enhance gameplay (player/world interaction, AI strategies and rules, gameplay, etc).
-Create immersive and compelling gameplay experiences.
-Specify and contribute to testing procedures.
-Create accurate task duration estimates and complete all work in a timely basis.
-Remain focused, motivated and effective on all tasks through to completion.
-Display good communication and writing skills and create documentation where required.
-Develop well designed software within project schedule to team standards.
-Actively participate in team working on project by making recommendations on how to improve product quality as well as group productivity.
-Provide input to department project status meetings.
-At least 2-3 years of professional experience as programmer in games industry.
-Worked on shipped products on either console or PC.
-Previous experience in a combat, melee or shooter-based game is a plus.
-Passion for making games.
-Solid understanding of C++ in a games development environment.
-Experience with modern development processes.
-Experience with game development tools and methods.
-Experience working with LUA and/or other scripting languages.
-Excellent problem-solving skills.
-Excellent English communication and writing skills.
-Keep a positive team-oriented attitude.
-Be proactive and self-motivated, work without direct supervision.
-Ability to work in interdisciplinary teams, to identify problems and propose solutions.
-Show a strong passion for making the highest quality / state of the art games.
-Willing to relocate to Frankfurt am Main area, Germany.
-Bachelor degree in Computer Science, a similar degree or comparable experience.
