Hibernum is searching for a highly creative and analytical Level Design Director capable of working on an action game for console and computers as part of a new gaming brand.
The Level Design Director is expected to take on a leadership role within the production team, supervise the level designers in their daily tasks, and take ownership of the level design issues for the whole project.
The new Level Design Director will work in close collaboration with the artistic and technical teams to create experiences in line the creative vision established by the Game Director, and other major stakeholders.
Leading a team of level designers;
Write or supervise the writing of all of the necessary documentation;
Help in the formulation and communication of the creative vision;
Determine with the producer the priorities for the project;
Determine the production pipeline for levels, from layout on paper, to greybox prototype, to final deliverable;
Take responsibility for the game world’s quality, focus, coherence, and efficiency within the overall vision of the project.
Coordinate with the art director and the technical director to ensure that the game’s content is optimized for both visuals and performance;
At least 5 years of experience in a level design position, or equivalent;
Proven creative leadership skills;
Good communication and presentation skills;
Experience with action games involving complex navigation;
Experience with console and/or computer games;
Other design experience is a bonus.
