Bethesda Softworks is seeking a Sr. UX Designer to join the Bethesda.net Experience Design team. We're seeking someone with passion and focus on making their products usable and useful. Our perfect candidate will have a well- rounded portfolio and a lot of great experience to share with us, as well as an eagerness to learn and grow your craft. We expect that you're a self-motivated, talented individual who has a knack for creating experiences that engage the audience, and are delightful and easy to use. Our perfect candidate will work here with us in Rockville, MD and is comfortable collaborating with onsite as well as remote teammates.
You'll be working in an Agile environment with a lot of interesting projects and our marketing, community, game design, development and executive teams at the enterprise level. You'll be a part of a creative environment and culture that encourages thinking out-of-the-box, and we're looking to create great experiences that bring our customers back for more. You'll be helping gather requirements, define the customer journey, conduct research, produce wireframes, prototype and create products with great design. You'll be designing for web, mobile and desktop and other platforms as they become available to us. Design for web, mobile, and desktop, understanding who our customers are and how to best serve their needs
Seek input, requirements and iterative feedback from stakeholders throughout the company to help define solutions
Support user needs and designs through research and interpretive analytics
Produce style guides across multiple platforms that support a coherent visual experience and branding
Collaborate with your peers to produce usable, useful tools
Advocate great customer experience through alignment, logic, proof of concept, and common sense.
You understand how to iterate and thrive in an Agile environment
You’ll always be learning from others and driving toward better a better customer experience
You know when and how to suggest stepping outside the box with a solution to meet the needs of the customer
You can rapidly document the customer journey, as well as wireframe, prototype, validate, and iterate on a concept
You’re organized and have attention to detail
You’re open minded, friendly and have a positive attitude
5 or more years of design - a composite of designing for content, interaction, graphical, visual communications, and products
Exceptional design, artistic, typographic, layout, and compositing abilities with a portfolio of some kind to prove it
Experience conducting research and analysis to understand user needs
You use Adobe Experience Design and are fluent with the Adobe CS/CC product suite. You’re also familiar with Axure, InVision, Sketch, Omnigraffle, etc.
You have a clear, direct, “no ego” attitude, and are capable of communicating the thought process behind your visual design solutions
