At Gameloft Montreal, you’ll be working with the world’s best game developers. Our studio has developed, and continues to develop, hit titles that include the Dungeon Hunter, Modern Combat and Gangstar series.

We are currently looking for a Technical Writer Internship or Temporary to document our in-house engine!

From the beginning of your adventure with us, you will be tasked with:

-Drafting and updating technical documentation related to Gameloft’s in-house engine
-Creating templates and instancing features to different projects
-Understanding the logic behind components, as well as their behaviours with regard to game objects or levels
-Sequence scripting (for both designers and artists)
-Establishing a bridge between 3ds Max and the in-house engine (material set-up, coll box, etc.)
-Integrating tooltips and the sequences of script boxes
-Performing “gym tests” (test cases) and verifying the technical aspects of new features (stability, usability, etc.)

Experience and Qualifications:

-Degree in computing, engineering or related fields
-Experience with professional technical writing, or something related such as programming or another role as a writer
-Good interpersonal communication skills
-Good Microsoft Office skills, especially with Word
-Experience with a game engine – knowledge regarding shortcuts and UI is essential
-Ability to write clear technical documentation that can be understood by specific audiences with various levels of technical knowledge, e.g. programming team, art team, design team and general public
-Understanding of game graphics/programming (experience with Irradiance, NavMesh, Enlighten and PVS baking is a major asset)
-Familiarity with C++, as well as a scripting language like Lua, is a major asset
-Fluency in both English and French, spoken and written
-3ds Max scripting is a major asset
-Asset production in 3ds Max is a must
