Environment Artist - Freelance, Location Flexible

Please note that this is an off-site position and location is not crucial in our hiring decision. Our team members work from all over the world, although it is more practical if they are located near or on the European continent as visiting our main studio in Amsterdam is then much easier. 

Responsibilities
  • World Building
  • Modeling, UV, texture and import of art assets
  • Work with a team of designers, concept artists and programmers to craft beautiful worlds
  • Optimize art for both computer and console diligently and efficiently
Requirements
  • 3 years experience creating environment art for games including a shipped title
  • Maya, 3DS Max, Modo or similar software package skill required
  • Experience with Unreal 4 or similar engine
  • Experience with Substance Designer & Painter Suite
  • Ability to model both high and low poly models
  • Responsible for uv and baking texture maps
  • Ability to maintain style set out by concept art and art direction
  • Strong understanding of shape, scale, and silhouette
  • Ability to collaborate and work well with others
  • Ability to respond well to feedback and criticism
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively to fellow teammates
  • Desire to learn and grow as an artist
  • Experience with first person shooter games
  • Resume, Portfolio required
  • Art test may be required
Pluses
  • Art Degree or formal education or training relating to the arts
  • Strong drawing and painting skills
  • ZBrush or similar sculpting software experience
  • Console experience
  • Source SDK / Hammer experience
  • Shipped titles
