Lockwood publishing seeks a highly motivated and skilled Senior Mobile Programmer to play an important role in the continued success of our virtual world Avakin Life. Our product is already extremely successful having achieved a top 300 position in the grossing chart on iOS. With over 18 million mostly organic downloads across iOS, Android and Amazon, this position offers a rare chance to be part of a team working on a product that is set for explosive growth over the upcoming years.

Skill summary:

  • The ability to write clear, reliable and maintainable code for cross-platform games.
  • A deep understanding of games development across multiple disciplines.
  • Strong software architecture skills, with a track record of successfully designing and implementing reliable, easy to understand and expandable code.
  • Familiarity of working with both C/C++ and C# code bases.
  • A can-do attitude, along with an unwillingness to give in when faced with a challenge.
  • Ability and willingness to mentor and advise junior members of the code team.
  • Have a clear understanding of the particular challenges in game development, such as art workflow, performance optimisation, memory management and supporting multiple platforms.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Basic revision control skills using SVN, Git or Perforce.
