Crytek is looking for a Visual Designer (UI) to work on a VR project at our Frankfurt office, Germany.
The Visual Designer is responsible to translate compelling gameplay into visual functional designs, and to evolve the aesthetic quality of game menus and user interfaces. This role will work closely with Art direction, Game Design and UI Programming for designing user-friendly interfaces of our VR games.
-Drive, prototype, communicate, and evolve the aesthetic quality of game menus and user interfaces.
-Conceptualize original ideas that bring simplicity and user friendliness to complex gameplay mechanics.
-Assure that game information is well conveyed through a user friendly interface.
-Evolve and maintain UI guidelines including colors, icons, typographic specifications, graphic, photographic and motion concepts as well as other relevant elements.
-Execute all design stages from concept to final hand-off to engineering.
-Go beyond “flat” screens with meaningful transitions and captivating animations.
-Be part of a team to conduct user research and evaluate user feedback.
-Work with Art direction, Game Design and UI Programming to define the architecture, user flows, user experience and interaction designs that effectively and directly solve player needs.
-Complete tasks in a timely manner and to a consistent high quality standard.
-Demonstrate ownership and responsibility.
-Demonstrate a desire to learn and grow professionally.
-Create documentation of your work and prepare workshops for your team members about your work.
-Demonstrable UI design and animation skills with a portfolio.
-A degree in Design or equivalent qualification.
-Specialized in the creation of interfaces and in menu design.
-Strong experience with interactive design including overall concept/vision, layout, typography and usability.
-Understanding of Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects and Flash.
-Very good feeling for composition, color and typography
-A good sense for modern, state of the art layout and design.
-Exceptional design skills, production value and attention to detail.
-Excellent understanding of UI/UX flow and function design.
-Ability to solve challenges creatively and effectively.
-Up-to-date with the latest UI trends, techniques, and technologies.
-Able to both give and receive critical feedback regarding various aspects of the project.
-Strong english communication skills, in written and verbal.
-Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process.
-A positive team-oriented attitude.
-Strong English communication and writing skills.
-Be proactive and self-motivated.
-Willing to relocate to Frankfurt am Main, Germany.
-Experience with CRYENGINE.
-Experience with virtual reality development.
-Understanding of 3DSMAX
