About Splash Damage

Splash Damage is an independently-owned studio on the outskirts of London, and we're all about crafting engaging multiplayer experiences. This year so far, we've launched our multiplayer shooter Dirty Bomb on the PC and completed Gears of War: Ultimate Edition for Xbox One. We're now expanding our team for exciting new projects on PC and console, and are looking for superstars to help us make them happen.

The Role

As Web Developer at Splash Damage, you’re overseer of our web presence. You’ll be responsible for creating and managing all that we purvey on the World Wide Web.

You’ll be working within our game & brand teams to design and build a variety of game related web content, ranging from promotional microsites, front-end portals and community discussion forums to full blown experience sites focusing on our game IP’s.

Responsibilities at a Glance

Website design and development
Production of bespoke CMS websites
Working on landing pages
Email marketing and newsletter design and development
Translate requirements and mock-ups into fully functioning features using JavaScript and HTML/CSS
Continuously look for ways to improve our sites and implement A/B tests
Take ownership of sections of our desktop, tablet and mobile web sites
Working closely with our marketing and community teams

About You

Passionate about online gaming
At least 3 years of full-time experience working in a relevant role
A solid understand of UX
Strong UI experience in design research, branding and graphic development, user guides/storyline, responsive design and prototyping
Understanding of social media
Experience of responsive design, designing for mobile and tablet devices
Expert proficient in all Adobe Creative Suite packages
Motion graphics experience is desirable: animated gifs, After Effects and Flash
Expert understanding of core front-end web technologies (JavaScript, HTML, CSS)
Experience with JavaScript libraries such as JQuery
Experience with templating languages
Ability to write high-performance, reusable code
Experience troubleshooting cross-browser compatibility issues
Experience with data-driven product development: analytics, A/B testing, etc
Knowledge of version control systems
Comfortable working on a command line
Excellent presentation, written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work under pressure and confident in delivering to tight deadlines
Proficiency using tools to track and report on response rates, traffic and pick up
Working knowledge of web analytics
Excellent organisational and task management skills
