We are Criterion. We love games.
We’re Criterion Games. You’ll know us from the Burnout series, Black & two recent Need For Speed games: Hot Pursuit & Most Wanted. After years dominating the driving scene, we’re now going #BeyondCars with a multi-vehicle action game set in the exciting world of adventure sports.
We place enormous value on creative collaboration and we’re passionate about inspiring, supporting, educating and working with a new generation of game makers as well as experienced industry veterans.
Over the last ten years we’ve entertained millions of players around the world with award-winning epic racing games. It’s an exciting place to work, full of talented people who make games built with laughter and passion. We are growing for a thrilling future full of new adventures.
Criterion employ the most creative and passionate people in the industry. People who share our vision and can bring their talents to our rich and diverse team.
The Challenge Ahead:
We are gathering collaborative, passionate individuals to join the audio team for our next game and help us to create our best sounding work yet. As Criterion goes beyond cars, we want to find a world-class, gameplay-focused Senior Audio Designer who can design and produce audio for a multitude of vehicles and environments.
What a Senior Audio Designer does at Criterion:
Criterion considers audio to be essential for an exciting and immersive gaming experience. The audio team brings our games to life by crafting a soundscape that includes tightly designed vehicles, rich environmental ambience, visceral physical impacts, and spectacular crashes. Working closely with the Audio Director and development team, a Senior Audio Designer produces original content for our games and iterates on that content throughout the course of development for an audio experience that is cutting edge in design and tightly focused on gameplay. This is Criterion’s most ambitious game yet and the ideal candidate will bring an equally ambitious style of work to our team.
The next Senior Audio Designer also needs:
Demonstrable experience of audio design and implementation within the games industry
The ability to take elements of audio design from concept through final implementation
Understanding and working knowledge of industry-standard DAWs and audio middleware
Familiarity with modern audio processing and standards
Studio and field recording experience
A highly collaborative approach to design and production
Excellent organisational and time management skills
Effective oral and written communication skills
A portfolio or showreel that highlights individual contribution
Experience within the racing and action sports genres a plus
Please note: While music is important to us, this position will not involve any composition work.
What’s in it for you? Glad you asked!
