Hibernum is looking for a creative, versatile and inventive VFX artist to join our art department for in-game development across multiple platforms and game genres. We are looking for an artist comfortable working many types of techniques and styles that go beyond simple particle effects. Our ideal artist is a researched, open-minded and experienced creator with a relentless pursuit of quality and style, who will inspire the team with his/her ability to make magic within the game’s technical limits.
Strong knowledge of Unity 3D game engine;
Ability to draw, paint, model and animate with equal proficiency;
Fully autonomous and self-sufficient;
Ability to concept and story-board VFX;
Implement in-game VFX efficiently while maintaining game performance;
Ability to generate high quality cinematic VFX, a plus;
Ability to script, a plus;
Ability to work in 2d and 3D, a plus;
Assist with other Technical Artist duties;
Write scripts to assist in VFX production processes.
Hold at least 5 years experience in the gaming industry or other related experience;
At least two shipped games (ideally with Unity 3D);
Very strong industry awareness of VFX techniques and software;
Mobile game development experience is ideal;
Broad knowledge of effects and style references;
Ability to mentor, a plus;
Technical and artistically minded;
Programming/scripting experience, a plus;
