ABOUT THE POSITION

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Senior Technical Artist specializing in Materials and Rendering, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining material systems, shader frameworks, and artist-facing workflows in Unreal Engine 5. You will work closely with artists, designers, and engineers to improve visual quality, optimize performance, and establish scalable content creation pipelines.

Daily tasks/tools:

  • Design and implement scalable master materials and material frameworks.
  • Develop reusable shader solutions for environments, props, and characters.
  • Collaborate with artists to create efficient material workflows.
  • Optimize shaders and materials for performance and memory usage.
  • Support rendering-related troubleshooting and visual quality improvements.
  • Create Blueprint-based tools and workflows for content creators.
  • Contribute to asset validation and optimization pipelines.
  • Work with Engineering to improve content production workflows.
  • Document tools, material standards, and best practices.
  • Support procedural and world-building workflows where appropriate.


QUALIFICATIONS

Must have:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in game development or CG industry.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Technical Artist.


  • Advanced knowledge of Unrenal Et, material optimization, and rendering pipelines.
  • HLSL skills
  • Strong Blueprint scripting experience.
  • Experience creating scalable material libraries and production-ready shader frameworks.
  • Experience profiling and optimizing materials for multiple hardware targets.
  • Strong understanding of Unreal Engine rendering systems, lighting, and content pipelines.
  • Experience writing technical documentation and defining workflows for artists.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with Art, Design, and Engineering teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of UE5 PCG Framework.


Nice to have:

  • Experience with Houdini and Houdini Engine for Unreal.
  • Knowledge of Geometry Script.
  • Experience with Editor Utility Widgets and pipeline automation.
  • C++ knowledge for Unreal Engine workflows.
  • Python scripting experience.
  • Experience with Niagara VFX systems.
  • Experience with Landscape, RVT, Virtual Textures, Foliage systems, and world-building workflows.
  • Familiarity with procedural content generation pipelines.

  • Ability to gather production requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
