RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and mentor a pod of narrative designers across projects
  • Define narrative design standards, workflows, and best practices
  • Review narrative content for quality, consistency, and gameplay alignment
  • Ensure narrative integrates cleanly with gameplay systems and production pipelines
  • Communicate narrative intent clearly to internal teams and external clients
  • Maintain high-quality narrative documentation and handoff processes
  • Build narrative structure of a game and outline details of the game world, characters, and lore
  • Write and compose cut scenes and narrative sequences.
  • Formalize documents, update the narrative structure and its implementation, according to principles established by the client.
  • Describe narrative situations, create documents defining their content and role in the course of the game.
  • Participate in the development of specific features, assets, narrative/scripted events, as well as in their implementation and debug.
  • Throughout the production, make necessary changes to narrative systems and scripted events according to feedback, to provide a consistent narrative experience and a desired player experience.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience leading or mentoring narrative designers
  • Deep understanding of narrative design across multiple game genres
  • Strong storytelling, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to balance creative vision with production and client constraints
  • Proficient knowledge of industry-standard design tools
  • Familiarity with collaborations and handoff tools used in game development pipelines
  • You understand the gameplay elements and how they impact a story
  • Experience as a narrative manger or lead writer on a AA or AAA game
  • 5+ years of writing or narrative design experience in the game industry
  • Good at written English
  • Experience working in co-development or multi-project environments is a plus
