Are you an experienced Senior UI/UX Designer with expertise in game UI, Unreal Engine UMG and full‑pipeline interface design?

Join a remote‑first game development team building a new MMO, where you will define the entire player interface experience from concept through to in‑engine implementation. This is a high‑impact role where your work will shape how players interact with combat, inventory, social systems and progression across a large‑scale, persistent world.

About the role

You will take full ownership of UI/UX design across the project, working from initial wireframes through to final in‑engine implementation using Unreal Engine 5. In an early production environment, you will help establish the UI visual language, component systems and interaction patterns that underpin the entire game experience. You will collaborate closely with design, art, engineering and VFX teams to ensure interfaces are intuitive, performant and aligned with the game world.

What you’ll do

  • Design and implement UI systems including HUDs, menus and in‑world interfaces using Unreal Engine UMG
  • Create wireframes, UI layouts and high‑quality visual assets including icons, panels and interactive elements
  • Build and configure Widget Blueprints, layouts, data bindings and interaction logic directly in engine
  • Define and maintain the UI visual language in collaboration with art direction
  • Design modular UI components that support player customisation and scalability
  • Ensure UI performance, resolution independence and localisation readiness
  • Collaborate with design and engineering to translate gameplay systems into clear, usable interfaces
  • Work with VFX and audio to integrate responsive feedback into UI interactions
  • Build and maintain a reusable component library with clear documentation and specifications
  • Conduct playtests and iterate on UI based on player feedback and usability testing

What we’re looking for

Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in game UI/UX design
  • Experience owning UI from concept through to in‑engine implementation on a shipped title
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating full UI pipeline including wireframes, visual design and in‑game screens

Skills

  • Proficiency in Figma, Photoshop and Illustrator
  • Strong experience building UI in Unreal Engine using UMG
  • Deep understanding of information hierarchy and UI composition for games
  • Strong UI art capabilities including icon design and visual systems
  • Knowledge of MMO UI conventions and complex system interfaces
  • Ability to communicate design decisions clearly and collaborate across teams

Nice to have

  • Experience developing UI for MMO or live‑service games
  • Familiarity with Unreal Engine Common UI plugin
  • Experience with diegetic or in‑world UI design approaches
  • Motion design skills for UI animations and transitions
