Are you an experienced Narrative Director with expertise in world‑building, IP development and cross‑media storytelling for large‑scale franchises?

Join a strategic team responsible for expanding a major global game IP across games, media and transmedia experiences. You will define and evolve the narrative foundation of the franchise, ensuring consistency, depth and alignment across all content while guiding internal teams and external partners.

About the role

You will act as the narrative owner of the IP, responsible for defining, expanding and maintaining the world’s core story framework, including lore, characters, timelines and thematic direction. This is a franchise‑level role focused on narrative systems and long‑term story consistency rather than individual scripts. You will collaborate closely with creative leadership to align narrative direction and ensure all outputs remain cohesive across multiple projects and media formats.

What you’ll do

  • Own and manage the narrative framework including lore, characters, timelines and world rules
  • Expand and deepen the narrative foundation to enrich the IP’s storytelling potential
  • Review and guide narrative alignment across games and transmedia projects
  • Provide narrative direction and decision support for new titles and content initiatives
  • Plan and lead original narrative content projects that extend the IP into new formats
  • Collaborate with creative leadership to align narrative and overall creative direction
  • Deliver clear narrative guidelines to internal teams and external partners
  • Review and provide feedback on narrative deliverables to ensure consistency and quality
  • Establish scalable structures for maintaining narrative cohesion across multiple projects

What we’re looking for

Experience

  • 10+ years of experience in narrative design, writing or IP development in games or media
  • Experience managing narrative consistency across multiple projects or products
  • Proven experience contributing to or leading narrative direction for large‑scale IPs
  • Experience collaborating with external partners, writers or studios

Skills

  • Strong expertise in world‑building, lore development and narrative systems design
  • Ability to structure and document complex narrative frameworks
  • Strong judgement in narrative quality and alignment
  • Excellent communication skills for presenting narrative concepts and decisions
  • Ability to translate narrative vision into practical guidelines for teams
  • Strategic thinking across multi‑project and transmedia environments

Nice to have

  • Experience leading narrative direction for a global franchise or IP
  • Experience creating or maintaining an IP, world or story “bible”
  • Background in transmedia storytelling across video, publishing or other formats
  • Multilingual communication skills
  • Experience designing narrative architecture at a franchise or universe level

Working style / behaviours

  • Strategic and systems‑focused thinker
  • Collaborative across creative and production teams
  • Strong ownership of narrative clarity and consistency
  • Comfortable working across multiple concurrent initiatives
  • Adaptable in evolving, cross‑media environments

Why join

  • Opportunity to define the narrative direction of a global entertainment franchise
  • Work across games, media and transmedia storytelling
  • High‑impact role shaping long‑term IP development
  • Collaborative environment with senior creative leadership
  • Influence narrative consistency across multiple projects and formats
