Are you an experienced JIRA Administrator with strong expertise in workflow configuration, Agile methodologies and production tooling for game or software development?

This is a contract opportunity to join a remote‑first game development team working on a new MMO. You’ll take ownership of the studio’s JIRA setup, ensuring it accurately supports production workflows, scales with team growth and enables clear, efficient delivery across disciplines.

About the role

You will manage and evolve the JIRA environment that underpins the studio’s production pipeline. Working closely with production, department leads and operations, you’ll configure workflows, boards and automation that align with real team processes. This role focuses on building a system that improves clarity, reduces friction and supports a hybrid Agile and milestone‑driven production model.

What you’ll do

  • Configure and maintain JIRA projects, workflows, issue types and permission schemes across all departments
  • Build and optimise boards, backlogs and views that reflect real team workflows
  • Design issue hierarchies, linking structures and custom fields for cross‑team dependency tracking
  • Create automation rules for workflows, notifications and recurring production processes
  • Develop dashboards and reports for sprint tracking, velocity, milestones and risks
  • Build filters and queries to support team visibility and efficient task management
  • Support milestone planning by aggregating sprint data into clear progress views
  • Document all configurations, processes and naming conventions
  • Train team members on JIRA usage and best practices
  • Deliver a complete handover package including documentation and maintenance guides

What we’re looking for

Experience

  • 3+ years of experience administering JIRA in a professional environment
  • Experience supporting game development, software development or creative production teams
  • Proven experience configuring JIRA for multi‑team environments

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of JIRA configuration including workflows, screens, permissions and issue types
  • Experience building dashboards, filters and reports using JQL
  • Experience creating and managing JIRA automation rules
  • Familiarity with integrations such as Confluence, Slack or similar tools
  • Strong ability to translate production needs into system design
  • Excellent documentation and communication skills

Nice to have

  • Experience configuring JIRA for game studios or creative production pipelines
  • Familiarity with hybrid Agile methodologies combining sprint cycles and milestone delivery
  • JIRA administration certification
  • Experience with JIRA Service Management or Product Discovery
  • Knowledge of Confluence for documentation and knowledge sharing

Working style / behaviours

  • Focused on usability, adoption and real‑world team workflows
  • Proactive and inquisitive, seeking to understand before configuring
  • Strong ownership of systems and deliverables
  • Clear communicator who documents continuously
  • Comfortable working autonomously in a remote environment

Why join

  • Opportunity to shape production tooling from the ground up
  • Work on a new MMO in early development
  • Fully remote role with international collaboration
  • High‑impact position improving team efficiency and clarity
  • Flexible contract with meaningful ownership
