Are you an experienced Senior Game Programmer with strong C++ skills and a passion for building high‑quality live‑service gameplay?

This is an opportunity to join a world‑class mobile game team working on a globally successful live‑service title. You’ll collaborate closely with designers, artists and fellow engineers to create new player experiences, shape gameplay decisions and deliver robust systems used by millions of players. This role suits a programmer who enjoys shared ownership, creative problem‑solving and influencing what makes it into the game.

About the role

You will work as part of a highly collaborative development team, contributing both technical and design input. In addition to writing production‑ready code, you’ll help define features, improve systems and participate in gameplay decision‑making. The role values autonomy, ownership and teamwork over rigid top‑down direction.

What you’ll do

  • Design and implement high‑quality gameplay features and supporting technology
  • Write robust, maintainable C++ code used by a large global player base
  • Contribute design ideas and gameplay improvements beyond pure implementation
  • Collaborate closely with designers, artists and other programmers toward shared goals
  • Deliver complete features independently while supporting team‑wide objectives
  • Balance building new systems with extending and improving existing codebases

What we’re looking for

Experience

  • Strong professional experience in game programming
  • Proven experience developing systems in C++
  • Ability to work effectively within established codebases
  • Experience delivering player‑facing features in shipped games

Skills

  • Broad understanding of game programming principles
  • Strong C++ proficiency
  • Comfortable designing systems as well as implementing them
  • Performance‑conscious coding approach
  • Clear communication and collaborative mindset
  • Strong passion for games and interactive experiences

Nice to have

  • Experience working on live‑service games
  • Experience with real‑time or multiplayer game systems
  • Deep expertise in one or more of the following areas: gameplay, mobile UI, modern graphics technology, live‑ops events
  • Strong experience optimising performance‑critical code

Working style / behaviours

  • Highly collaborative and team‑oriented
  • Comfortable sharing ownership of decisions
  • Proactive, curious and eager to learn new technologies
  • Motivated by improving player experience rather than just shipping code

Why join

  • Work on a globally successful live‑service game
  • Highly collaborative, low‑hierarchy development culture
  • Opportunity to influence both gameplay and technical direction
  • Flexible working arrangements with international collaboration
  • Meaningful ownership and creative freedom within the team

If you’re a senior game programmer who thrives in a collaborative, player‑focused environment, we’d love to hear from you. Apply now, or email Ryan Templeman - rt@skillsearch.com
