Are you an experienced DevOps Engineer with expertise in CI/CD pipelines, cloud infrastructure and live‑service game operations?

Join a remote‑first game development team building a new MMO, where you will design and maintain the systems that power development, deployment and live operations. This is a high‑impact role focused on enabling development velocity while building reliable, scalable infrastructure for a long‑term live‑service product.

About the role

You will own build systems, deployment pipelines and infrastructure across the project, ensuring the development team can move quickly without sacrificing stability or reliability. Working closely with engineering, QA and production, you’ll build and scale DevOps foundations from early production through to live service. This includes CI/CD pipelines, cloud infrastructure, monitoring systems and deployment workflows.

What you'll do

  • Design, build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for client, server and tooling builds
  • Manage Unreal Engine build workflows including packaging, server builds and content cooking
  • Implement automated testing within build pipelines, including unit, integration and smoke tests
  • Maintain source control workflows and branching strategies across teams
  • Provision and manage cloud infrastructure across development, staging and production
  • Build infrastructure‑as‑code systems to ensure reproducible environments
  • Implement monitoring, logging and alerting systems for infrastructure and builds
  • Design scalable infrastructure for game servers, including auto‑scaling and regional deployment
  • Collaborate with backend engineering on deployment strategies and service orchestration
  • Support QA with stable test environments and automation tooling
  • Document systems, pipelines and operational procedures

What we're looking for

Experience

  • 4+ years of experience in DevOps, infrastructure or build engineering
  • Experience working on at least one shipped game or live‑service product
  • Proven experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience managing cloud infrastructure in production environments

Skills

  • Strong experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions or Azure Pipelines
  • Proficiency with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or GCP
  • Experience with containerisation and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Experience with infrastructure‑as‑code tools such as Terraform or Ansible
  • Strong scripting skills (Python, Bash or PowerShell)
  • Solid understanding of version control systems including Git and Perforce
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills

Nice to have

  • Experience with Unreal Engine build pipelines
  • Experience managing game server infrastructure and deployment
  • Familiarity with observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana or Datadog
  • Experience with database management and backup systems
  • Experience optimising cloud infrastructure costs

Working style/behaviours

  • Systems‑driven mindset with strong ownership of reliability
  • Automation‑first approach to solving recurring problems
  • Comfortable working in early‑stage, evolving environments
  • Responsive to issues and focused on preventing future failures
  • Proactive communicator in remote, distributed teams

Why join

  • Opportunity to build DevOps systems from the ground up on a new MMO
  • Fully remote role with international collaboration
  • High ownership and technical influence across the project
  • Work on a long‑term live‑service title with large‑scale ambitions
  • Collaborative culture focused on autonomy and continuous improvement
