As an Sound/Audio Designer, your responsibilities include crafting, developing, producing and integrating the sound environment for video games. Your expertise in sound and passion for video games enable you to build captivating soundscapes, providing players with an immersive gaming experience. You play a key role in bringing the creative vision to life, working in collaboration with the audio director and game design team.

List of responsibilities

As part of their duties, employees are required to perform several tasks including:

  • Designing and editing sound assets for use in videogames and trailers, in respect to the game's style and project's creative direction.
  • Integrating sound assets in audio middleware (Wwise, FMOD) and game engines (Unreal, Unity)
  • Designing dynamic mixing hierarchies and dynamic audio systems.
  • Working collaboratively, attend meetings with the team and external partners
  • Contributing to the project's documentation and tracking.

On occasion, you could participate in and execute recording sessions inside and outside of the studio

Requirements

Education and Experience
  • Degree in a discipline related to the position (sound design, music, etc.)
  • Experience having worked on at least two completed games
  • Or have an impressive portfolio/demo


Competences and qualities
  • You are proficient in using a DAW (Reaper or Pro Tools) for sound design purposes, in sync with visual material.
  • You are creative, curious, humble, good at accept constructive criticism and a great team player.
  • You are good at managing stress and respecting timeline and schedules.
  • Sharpened sense of organization, resourcefulness and autonomy
  • You are positive in nature
  • You are fluent in English.
  • You are passionate about video games.
  • You have a good understanding of the audio pipeline working with Wwise and can execute basic integration tasks in at least one game engine (Unreal or Unity).

  • Mixing proficiency with linear media
  • Talent with spreadsheets
