Job Description
Miniclip is looking for a Backend Developer to hire in our Lisbon (Portugal) Games Development Studio.
This is an exciting opportunity for a software developer to integrate into an agile, highly effective, and skilled team. You will be working with the team that is responsible for the development and operation of the Multiplayer Mobile Game Backend Applications and Infrastructure that support our tens of millions of users!
This is a full-time, permanent, hybrid position.
What will you be doing at Miniclip?
Your work will include:
• Designing, developing, maintaining, and operating robust and scalable back-end systems by using, extending, and improving existing in-house technology
• Finding the best solutions to implement, and tools to adopt, for the technological challenges the systems and processes face
• Experience in managing migrations of legacy systems
• Participating in team activities to develop new concepts for game modes, promotional campaigns, temporary events, and in-game content
• Working together with a multi-disciplinary and highly motivated agile Scrum development team, including backend and client developers, quality assurance testers, release managers, and others
• Proactively addressing opportunities and needs by supporting the development of new features and resolving bugs and limitations within internal systems

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills:
• Prior professional experience in software development for networked back-end/server systems in a UNIX/Linux/POSIX environment
• Experience with one or more of the following programming languages: C, C++, Java, Go (Golang), Erlang, Elixir or PHP
• Experience managing high-capacity web servers
• Experience with requirements analysis and dimensioning
• Excellent problem-solving skills through analytical, systematical, or intuitive approaches
• A strong curiosity and commitment to continuously learning new skills, exploring innovative approaches, and enhancing product and code quality
• Proficiency in both written and spoken English
The following skills are desirable but not essential (if you have them, don't forget to mention them):
• Experience with cloud infrastructure design and operation
