Gray Zone Warfare has been under development in our bustling offices for more than three years. This new game is an immersive tactical FPS with a maximum focus on realism, immersive gameplay, and stunning graphics powered by Unreal Engine 5. Help us to craft immersive and unforgettable gaming experiences! We are looking for a passionate Writer to bring our universe to life by shaping its lore, atmosphere and narrative depth. Working closely with other team members, you will ensure that every piece of writing, from high-stakes mission briefs and narrative objectives to the realistic details of the gear players carry into battle, is highly atmospheric and authentic, pulling the player deeper into the conflict.
This is an on-site position in Brno, Czech Republic.
WHAT IS YOUR MISSION:
- Clearly, immersively and authentically describe in-game items (weapons, gear, consumables, etc.) and user interface (UI) features.
- Work closely with the Narrative and Quest Designers to create exciting quest texts, engaging dialogues and mission objectives.
- Collaborate closely with team members from the design, art and UI departments to ensure that all text integrates seamlessly into the gameplay and fits the game world.
- Support the localisation process by preparing string databases, maintaining terminology glossaries and resolving linguistic queries.
- Proofread, edit and refine all written assets to maintain a consistent, realistic and military tone throughout the game.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR: - Excellent English skills, with a minimum C1 level of proficiency.
- A passionate gamer with a strong creative vision and a talent for storytelling.
- Proven experience in writing, narrative design, or copyediting (ideally in the gaming industry).
- An eye for detail and the ability to write in a realistic, tactical, and gritty tone.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with different development teams.
- Strong organizational skills, with a basic understanding of (or willingness to learn) narrative and localization tools.
- You are eligible to work in the EU. Due to the length of the visa process, we are unable to provide you with a visa.
- It is mandatory to be based in Brno, so you must be willing to move.
