We are currently looking for a Senior Technical Environment Artist to help elevate the visual quality of projects built in Unreal Engine 5.
This is a hands-on role focused on rendering, lighting and materials, working directly within active productions to bring them closer to modern UE5 standards. You will help teams improve visual fidelity, refine or replace outdated workflows and establish scalable solutions that balance quality and performance.
WHAT YOU'LL WORK ON
- Driving improvements in lighting quality, scene composition and overall visual fidelity
- Evaluating and refactoring existing rendering pipelines
- Implementing and optimizing UE5 features such as Lumen, Nanite and modern shadowing systems
- Creating and maintaining master materials and material workflows that support variation and scalability
- Improving environment readability, depth and visual consistency
- Identifying technical and artistic bottlenecks and proposing practical solutions
- Working closely with artists and engineers to raise quality without slowing production
- Establishing clear visual and technical standards that teams can follow
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Requirements:
- Strong experience as a Technical Artist or Environment Artist on shipped PC/console titles
- Deep understanding of Unreal Engine 5 rendering (Lumen, Nanite, lighting, post-process)
- Proven ability to improve visual quality on existing projects, not just build from scratch
- Strong knowledge of materials, shaders and real-time rendering principles
- Experience building scalable material systems and workflows
- Good understanding of lighting, exposure and composition in real-time environments
- Ability to analyze and improve suboptimal pipelines or setups
- Comfortable working across disciplines with both artists and engineers
- Professional working proficiency in English
Nice to have:
- Experience writing shaders (HLSL or similar)
- Experience optimizing rendering and assets for performance
- Experience joining projects mid-development and raising quality quickly
- Experience working with distributed or external teams
