Job description
We're working with a leading, globally success mobile games studio in their search for a Senior Cloud Develop (Backend & Tools), to join them for a 12 month fixed term contract.
You will be leading the development of scalable backend services, cloud infrastructure and internal tools that support the delivery of engaging digital experiences to millions of users worldwide.
Working closely with creative and technical teams, you'll drive cloud architecture, security, automation, and performance improvements across a modern serverless environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and build serverless APIs and microservices using Node.js/TypeScript on Google Cloud Platform.
Take ownership of backend security, authentication and authorization strategies.
Implement and manage infrastructure using Terraform and cloud best practices.
Audit and optimise existing Node.js applications and Cloud Run configurations to improve performance and reduce cloud spend
Develop and enhance internal tools, workflows and automation processes.
Mentor team members and promote engineering excellence.
You will need:
Strong experience with GCP (Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, API Gateway, Cloud Storage).
Expert-level TypeScript/Node.js development skills.
Experience with Firebase services and serverless architectures.
Strong understanding of API security, authentication, and secrets management.
Hands-on experience with Terraform and Docker.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Bonus points if you have experience with:
Google Apps Script, Python, PlayFab, Azure CloudScript, or Sentry
Integrating with Unity (C#).
Supporting large-scale live service products.
