VFX Programmer in Manchester

If you are a VFX Programmer with a great portfolio of work and a passion for creating games that feel great to play, this role in Manchester could be the perfect next step in your career.

As a VFX Programmer, you’ll be responsible for continuously developing the studio’s mobile games to improve them and keep them looking and feeling great for players. You will be working on their highly successful mobile game at this award-winning studio, as well as highly anticipated new releases. This indie studio is owned by a huge games corporation so has strong backing and funding from a highly successful parent company.

You should have a keen eye for detail and be enthusiastic about games with solid knowledge of what is required to create stunning gameplay. As part of your position at this studio, relocation support is available (on a case by case basis) to help you settle into Manchester if you will be relocating for this role.

VFX Programmer responsibilities:

Continue development on the studio’s successful mobile game among a team of various disciplines

Implement new game features for UI, VFX and animations

Improve game features artistically but also be able to code them

Key requirements for this role in Manchester:

University degree (or equivalent) in a technical art related subject OR an excellent portfolio representing your technical art skills

Knowledge of 3D hierarchical/transformation concepts

Understanding of game flow and logic

Knowledge and experience with: Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, 3Ds Max/Maya

The following attributes are desirable but not essential:

Experience in the games industry

Natural problem solver who thinks outside the box

Understands what makes a game look and feel good and is fun to play
