Technical Artist in Cornwall

This award-winning Cornwall studio is looking for a Technical Artist to join their highly skilled team in Falmouth.  As a Technical Artist, you will be building the internal art processes and guiding asset pipeline implementation in collaboration with the Tools and Rendering team.  This is an excellent role for someone with a familiarity with art creation pipelines, asset exporting, process automation and procedural creation. You will be the bridge between the art and technical teams so you must be approachable and able to manage you time effectively.

Based in beautiful Cornwall, this award-winning studio creates highly successful first-person shooter games, and have some exciting new unannounced projects in development currently. Proudly Cornish, they focus on giving their team members a great work-life balance so they can enjoy everything that Cornwall has to offer, from cycling to swimming.

Technical Artist responsibilities:

Assess, maintain and improve existing shaders and material creation processes

Keep a keen eye for monitoring game performance and memory usage as well as helping to improve the monitoring toolset

Create and maintain PostFX

Provide feedback on the creation workflow

Maintain visual consistency

Create real time visual effects

Key requirements for this role in Cornwall:

Experience creating VFX and PFX in Unreal Engine 4

Experience with Unreal Engine’s material, cascade/Niagara and blueprints

Experience optimising particle effects in game environments

Experience as a Technical Artist on one or more shipped title

Experience with 3DS MAX

Experience with Unreal Engine 4

Experience using Python and PyQt/PySide
