My client has a talented team of people who live and breathe games; from table top to video games. You’ll find them playing, creating, breathing and talking games. In fact, gaming is so important to them that they purposefully have a chunk of time set aside to play games every day! Learning from the widest range of experiences makes their own games better.

My client place enormous value on creative collaboration, fresh ideas, and unique perspectives. Their studio is a healthy mix of industry veterans and newcomers working together to inspire, support, and educate one another. They encourage free experimentation, innovation and exploration very explicitly with regular “off-the-grid” time.

My client work hard to give you the autonomy to express these skills fully and to develop new ones. They have a working rhythm that rapidly reforms their teams with self selection according to the priorities of the game you’re working on.

The working day has space carved out for everyone to play games – by themselves or together, be they tabletop or videogames, there's love for them all. Learning from the widest range of experiences makes their own games better.

Over the years, they’ve learned that crunching is flat-out stupid, so they don’t do it.

The Challenge Ahead:
My client demands a world class team of developers and is currently looking for a Senior Vehicle Engineer to partner with their vehicle design team and build the next generation of physical handling models. We’re looking for someone who can push the boundaries of playful handling with a focus on the second to second experience whilst making it accessible to all. It should be a rewarding and satisfying feeling every time anyone picks up a controller.

What a Vehicle Engineer does:
The successful engineer will work alongside their design, art and engineering teams in a structured, iterative process, taking a hands-on role in creating, developing and implementing physical handling setups across a diverse range of vehicles. You will have the ability to find the sweet spot between authenticity and fun that makes every ride a thrilling experience. You will be responsible for developing systems and models that deliver an awesome gaming experience with technology used by other leading AAA titles. You should have a track record of delivering AAA game titles.

Software Engineer also needs:
- Proven development experience on console
- Provable skill in C++
- Experience with modern console APIs and architectures (including PC)
- Experience developing physics and/or vehicle dynamics is a real bonus
- A passion for delivering amazing features that define a game
- Strong Maths / Mechanics skills
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
- Ability to estimate work and provide accurate updates on progress
- Creative approach to problem solving
- Passion for delivery of quality software to our high standards

Keep Calm and waka waka...
