XR Games is an award-winning game development studio specialising in immersive AR and VR content.

We make fun games people love to play and talk about. Led by a team with big game experience at studios like Rockstar, EA, Codemasters, Sumo, Team 17 and Dubit, we've created games for some of the world's biggest brands, including Sony Pictures, Rovio, Dreamworks, BBC and Lego.

We specialise in full-scale immersive AR and VR content, as well as work-for-hire development for PC, mobile and console.

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Producer to join the team in-house.

As a core member of our senior team, you'll join the effort of forming passionate cross-functional teams in crafting incredible experiences for players. You will take the reins of the content roadmap and be responsible for continually developing it based on data and trends. You'll be the main point of contact between the company and our external partners, always advocating for the best value for the product.

Objectives for the role:

  • Provide overall project direction and ensure that the project’s goals, objectives and milestones are consistently achieved and never compromised.
    • We regularly send deliverables to our 1st party vendors - you’re responsible for their safe delivery as well.
  • Maintain and be responsible for the project schedule along with the Producer, including task breakdowns and assignments.
    • Our projects run best when everyone is pulling together, and you’ll be helping to hand out the ropes.
  • Head up and take ownership of internal and external project reporting, both to stakeholders and to the team itself.
    • You should be a one-stop-shop for project knowledge, from the strategic view all the way down to the weeds.
  • Work with the Producer to drive daily scrums, organise retrospectives and planning sessions, and encourage the team’s continuous Scrum adoption. Be seen and keen to remove the team’s blocks.
    • We work in an iterative way at XR Games, and you’ll be championing that as we go.
  • Become the primary force for change and improvement in the studio, helping to implement or initiate new processes as needed.
    • We want to deliver high quality products in time and on budget - this will be your mission too, and you’ll use your experience and expertise as tools to keep things cutting edge.

  • Ideally have 5 years of working in a production role with experience working on shipped VR titles
  • Be a key leader/contributor to the development team
  • Manage the schedules of multiple departments within the game team, to ensure that milestones are agreed, detailed and delivered as expected
  • Create milestone content and realistic production schedules in coordination with team leads and management.
  • Manage the project budget - identifying resource requirements and expectations, tracking actual project spend versus planned spend and continuously updating projections
  • Managing change – ensuring project scope is adhered to, controlling feature creep, ensuring project is delivered in accordance with expectations, and project budget changes if necessary.
  • Identify and resolve conflicts between schedule, budget and design goals.
  • Continuously assess risk and keep scope of the project in line with budget and schedule.
  • Manage day to day communication of matters regarding schedule, budget, change and risk with the client and Senior Management and making recommendations accordingly
  • Manage communication of project progress to the Senior Management Team
  • Maintain close communication with the heads of and provide team members with material and technical support as needed
  • Ensure that each member of the team is working from a tracked schedule and has a strong sense of ownership, responsibility and accountability for the quality and timeliness of their contribution
  • Ensure excellent communication, positive working relationships and teamwork within the development team and across disciplines
  • Coach and mentor junior production staff
  • Keep abreast of current trends in the marketplace especially with regard to similar and/or competitive product
  • Remote post but ideally within travelling distance to Leeds, England for ad-hoc meetings in a post-lockdown world
