Based in Liverpool, the virbant heart of the North West's games development scene! Do you want to make your mark on an original IP in an established, fully independent studio? Of course you do! You'll be working on a new and exciting project, joining the team and the game at its conception phase. You will watch it flourish into an incredible multi-platform title.

Firesprite are the creators of the original survival horror IP, “The Persistence”, released to critical acclaim for PlayStation VR in the Summer of 2018! They have ambitious plans for 2020 (and beyond), and they want YOU to be a part of it!

If you’re a Render Programmer, they are looking for you to design and implement state of the art graphics effects. It’s a chance to get in at the early stages of development and contribute to the shape of a brand-new IP. This is a VERY rare opportunity!

As a core team member of your new team, you’ll be responsible for delivering awesome and innovative graphics effects, systems, and relevant tools; supporting the visual ambitions of the game. You’ll be working closely with artists, and the design team, to make sure the creative vision of the title is achieved to the highest standard possible.

Your day-to-day will include:

Implementation of bespoke graphics systems to support game visuals

Liaising with Art and Design to establish practical targets, budgets and limits

Devising innovative solutions to overcome platform constraints

Producing robust, efficient, clear and maintainable code, whilst striving to reduce technical debt across the game

Providing constructive feedback on designs during initial design, prototyping, iteration and polishing stages

Helping to mentor and guide more junior members of the coding team

The  key skills and XP you’ll need:

Excellent C++ know-how

A broad knowledge of GPU architecture

Capable working with contemporary graphics techniques

Strong working knowledge of shaders

Compotent API design / software engineering skills

Great 3D vector maths

CPU and GPU profiling experience

An eye for the creative and aesthetic aspects of development

1+ years experience in a similar role

Additional or desired skills:

1+ shipped title

Familiarity with Unreal Engine 4

Console development experience

Experience developing gameplay for VR would be useful
