Framestore is looking for an experienced Lead Programmer with 5+ years of video games experience to push the development of digital humans at Framestore. This development will impact Framestore interactive products by allowing Framestore to create believable characters on par or better with what can be found in AAA video games. This role has the potential to impact the virtual production pipeline, animated TV series and over time even highly realistic VFX productions.
The first project the lead programmer will tackle is a highly complex R&D experience involving several software components integrated from several third party software companies and university research institutions. The project will involve areas as diverse as text to speech/facial animation systems, high-quality volumetric capture and complex rendering techniques. Framestore responsibilities are focused on character design and modelling, rigging, rendering and software engineering. The lead programmer will be accountable for preserving the integrity of the executable, set technical guidelines for all partners and content creators and balance the technical risks of the projects.
Overlapping the project, the lead programmer will generalise the learnings from the project by documenting, refactoring and sharing the components with all the Framestore studios worldwide so the company can deliver the highest quality real-time solutions for our clients.
The lead programmer will also have the opportunity to be involved in exciting convergence initiatives using game engines for virtual production, fast rendering and fast previewing.
