Lead Content Designer [Anno] (f/m/d)
This position will be located at Ubisoft Blue Byte, Mainz (Germany).Job Description

The world of Anno is growing, and so is the team behind it. We are looking for a talented Lead Content Designer to manage the creation and implementation of all design content. This role will ensure that this content reflects the project's artistic vision and fully exploits the potential of all game mechanics. You should possess great leadership skills and a superior ability to motivate your team.
Your tasks:

  • Lead and mentor the content design team
  • Design the game world in line with the project's artistic vision and world guide
  • Plan and direct the design of the games content with a strong focus on narration and world building. This includes the design of campaigns, quests, tutorials, levels, events, characters and certain items
  • Create quality goals, workflows and guides for all relevant content
  • Improve the design of areas such as narration, game flow and pacing, difficulty, player progression as well as the consistency of all mechanics used to create content
  • Collaborate with the lead team, producers and directors to deliver high quality content in line with the creative vision of the game
  • Participate in research and optimization of content creation tools and workflows
Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the games industry working on level design, narrative design or game design; including shipping at least one AAA title
  • Thorough understanding of overall content design processes; including areas such as narrative design, level design, game design and game writing
  • Solid knowledge of the game production pipelines
  • Experience in rapid prototyping and concept feasibility testing
  • Strong ability to learn and master new tools and techniques
  • Able to apply critical and analytical thinking to solve complex challenges
  • Strong verbal and written English skills; German and French skill are a plus
  • Team player with a positive attitude and a superior motivation to create high quality content
