Lead Artist in Troy, New York

Are you a games Artist with plenty of industry experience? Looking for a new challenge at an innovative indie studio? Look no further!

As a Lead Artist at this studio in Troy, New York, you will be an integral part of setting the artistic tone and vision for new projects and ensuring artwork is innovative and captivating for players. You will work closely alongside several other team members including gameplay programmers, designers, artists and animators to achieve beautiful and exciting game visuals.

This studio is proud to have contributed to several world-famous and critically acclaimed games franchises throughout their 29 years of game development. They focus on creating breakthrough experiences for players, they’re not afraid to take risks and this has lead to great success for them as a studio so far.

Currently working on brand new original IP in never before seen forms of gameplay, whilst building their own game engine, this is a very exciting time to join their team.

Lead Artist key responsibilities:

Create visually captivating, innovative and exciting experiences

Work closely with the Art Director and other team leaders to set the vision for the look of games early on in the process

Experiment with different visual styles and prototypes

Help direct and lead the art team for the project

Essential requirements for this role in Troy, NY:

Significant games industry experience on console/mobile/PC platforms

Strong knowledge of composition, light, colour and perspective

Expert in 3DS Max or Maya, Zbrush, Substance, Adobe Creative Suite, etc.

Experience of modern lighting techniques such as baked GI and deferred

Experience of working in AAA game engines such as Unreal and Unity

Experience in a lead role of a mid- to large-sized game development project
