Ustwo games is a mobile-first games studio and we love to make interactive entertainment that pushes the boundaries of the medium. We are a small and diverse team of 30 coming from all walks of life with the aim to craft interactive entertainment with stand-out production values, heart and broad appeal.
We’re looking for a Lead Artist to join us and work on the next game in the Monument Valley series. This role requires someone with solid experience and initiative, with strong leadership qualities who has successfully led the art direction on gaming titles. If you thrive in a dynamic and creatively diverse role, have proven experience of leading teams on projects and you’re seeking a fast-paced, friendly environment, then come and help us make games that will be loved worldwide.
Establish, develop and maintain the game artistic style and visual quality
Support the implementation of project art direction with other members of the team, and also gets stuck in with hands on work
Work with other disciplines to establish technical and aesthetic guidelines for art in the game
Continually look for opportunities to innovate and improve the visual quality and game play experience - collaborating/pushing/leading artists - and the wider team where necessary
Identify and raise any risks or issues as you find them to the Leadership Team
Use experience and expertise to guide and advise the design team through production
Line manage artists
Experience on multiple games and ability to work across varied art styles
Experience in shipping titles as Lead Artist
Experience in estimating/scheduling (ideally within an agile environment)
Strong technical skills
Ability to do 2D and 3D work
Proficient with standard industry tools like Maya and Photoshop, with a high capacity to learn new tools
Excellent understanding of visual storytelling and pacing
Leads the way in upcoming visual trends
Interest and knowledge of art history and the latest artistic trends
