We are seeking an experienced marketing professional to lead Team17’s global marketing efforts. As a crucial part of Team17’s senior management team, you will play a key role in our future growth strategy, being the vision carrier and the driving force behind the creation and management of thriving brands, effective PR and successful community communications.

You will work closely with the CEO, our network of external development partners and our internal studio team to deliver first-class marketing activities that reflect current marketing communications trends and drive demand for Team17’s products, ensuring that our games resonate with audiences worldwide and are a commercial success.

You will also act as a mentor for direct reports, offering support and guidance to aid their personal development and use your expertise in go-to-market planning and knowledge of market trends to recommend new, creative and effective ways to reach players.  


Key Responsibilities:

  • Be the strategic driving force behind our marketing campaigns, helping guide the Head of Brand, Head of Communications and other key members of staff in strategic planning and winning go-to-market activities
  • In collaboration with the Brand team, monitor market trends and competitor activities to inform our marketing approach whilst ensuring that Team17 remains at the cutting edge of innovation in its creativity and thinking
  • Lead research into consumer markets to identify opportunities and key issues for the market, providing actionable insights which support effective marketing strategies
  • Drive execution of marketing plans via Head of Brand that create demand and drive optimal revenues
  • Build and maintain first class 1st party platform holder relationships, ensuring regular communication of plans to maximise marketing support
  • Lead efforts to build Team17’s audience via social channels, email communications and customer loyalty initiatives
  • Deliver evaluation and analytics for marketing campaigns as part of the post-mortem process, providing key learnings that can be applied to future campaigns
  • Overall responsibility for the marketing budget and ensuring allocation of investment against growth opportunities is optimised
  • Accountability for the overall success of Team17 global marketing campaigns and their creative quality
  • Be a key part of Team17’s greenlight team, bringing consumer insights to our product acquisition process
  • Develop opportunities with partners to maximise co-marketing efforts
  • Attend consumer and media events within the UK or overseas as required as an ambassador for Team 17 and our partners products
  • Travel (including international) as needed
  • Additional duties as required


 Skills & experience required: 

  • A minimum of seven years’ experience in a marketing role
  • A passion for videogames. No direct games industry experience required but videogaming will be a much-loved personal pastime
  • Proven experience of building, developing and inspiring teams of marketing professionals
  • Broad experience and understanding of the marketing discipline including product positioning, market research, consumer promotions, online innovation and creative development
  • A deep understanding of and experience working in direct to consumer digital businesses
  • Strong mentoring skills and the desire to help direct reports excel in their professional development
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills across all levels and the ability to represent the consumer throughout the product development and go-to-market process
