Art Director

Quantum Works is combining the worlds of cryptocurrency and gaming aimed at the mass gaming audience, where the game comes first with cryptocurrency seamlessly integrated in. We are looking for an art director to come on board and lead the art team in the creation of a new title, our inaugural game Project Quantum, working title. 

As an ArtDirector, you would have the opportunity to build a team from the ground up in an exciting new area of gaming and help drive the making of a market-disrupting game.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the hiring of new team members and the building of a new development team.

  • Determine what technology is best suited for the project; understand the engine, middleware and their constraints.

  • Provide artistic leadership and lead the art team to drive the overall vision of the project.

  • Consult on a regular/daily basis with your fellow Directors/heads of departments.

  • Developing high standards of quality.

  • Formulate the art pipeline and decide on what software to use for creating and implementing the art assets into UE4.

  • Defining the game's art style, while complying with the creative vision of the initial art direction.

  • Providing guidance and advice to the team, as well as managing freelancers and outside studios, if necessary.

  • Facilitate communication both within and across disciplines.

  • Identify and promote the application of art best practices within the studio.

  • Be a positive leader, managing your team and mentoring when necessary.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience working in games.

  • 3+ years of experience in a senior art/leadership position within a game studio.

  • A bachelor's degree in a relevant field.

  • Exceptional management and communication skills.

  • Preferably have previously worked on a multiplayer and/or a live service game. 

  • Good knowledge of programming languages and software engineering practices.

  • Experience in developing AAA titles on console or PC platforms.

  • Excellent knowledge of implementing art assets into game engines (Unreal Engine 4).
