In October last year, during a growth phase, they moved their headquarters from Boho 5 to a 5000 Square ft space in the heart of Middlesbrough town centre. Already open plan, modern and complete with a ping pong table, pool table and arcade machine the team decided to take it all one step further!
Long-time friends and a household name when it comes to interior design in the Teesside area, Cocoon & Bauer were always the only choice for the office makeover. In previous years the furnishing moguls built custom bleachers complete with a pug hole for the one and only Minnie (office pug) for meetings, gaming or just relaxing with colleagues.
The plans for the upcoming redesign look no less fun. Plans for unique neons, a specialised games room and custom-built breakout areas are just some of what’s on the cards for this indie studio’s office space.
For both new and old members of staff, the new design of the office is set to be more than just a work space, with casual after-work hangs and board game evenings part and parcel of the SockMonkey experience (when it is safe to do so of course).
The current location of the SockMonkey offices are so close to the train station that on particularly quiet days you can hear your train pull into the station and then run like all hell to catch it.
Not in a rush to leave the town? Thankfully Middlesbrough is filled to the brim with places to eat, drink and be merry after work, with a personal favourite of the studio’s Pie Jackers just across the street a brand new Five Guys which has recently opened nearby.
Keep Calm and waka waka...
