The Studio

Founded in 2015 by industry veterans Jon Gibson and Tony Beckwith, Electric Square sprang to life as the sister studio of the award-winning Studio Gobo. In 2018, Electric Square proudly became a part of the wider keywords studio group.

Based in a former electric house, the studio has taken more than a few branding cues from their 1930s building that the studio inhabits. The gorgeous art-deco inspired artwork is prevalent across their studio's assets and you can see them across the Games Jobs Direct homepage until the end of September.

As a specialised work-for-hire studio, Electric Square has worked on a number of projects with amazing partners such as Microsoft and Amazon Game Studios. As a fiercely creative studio, they love to work on multiple projects with a focus on working with great partners, on great games based on incredible IP.

Their mission statement is emblazoned across their homepage:

'We provide world-class game development services for the biggest and best partners in the industry."

As well as working on interesting and varied projects they also have a strong focus on employee welfare. Electric Square are all about fostering a highly collaborative culture that can constantly push the boundaries of what the studio can achieve. They're big believers in work/life balance and giving their staff the flexibility they need to make this happen. And this has paid off with them being named one of the best medium-sized companies at the Games Industry Best Place to Work Awards 2019.

If that sounds like your sort of studio, make sure to check out their vacancies!
